Tired of hipsters? Who isn’t. Tired of getting weird, condescending looks when you go to the only coffee shop in town that serves good coffee.
Yeah. Me too. Why is it that the only good local coffee has to be served by total jerks?
Who knows.
Let’s Get ‘Em Back
But how?
I’ll tell you how. We’ll make our own coffee. We’ll make it better than they do.
Well, at least that’s what I do – and you are welcome to join me. I collect and use an assortment of coffee gadgets to brew perfectly extracted madness in the dark recesses of my own coffee lab – with my cat, of course. (He’s a serious coffee snob).
We blog at www.vvlgar.com, and put serious effort into finding new and innovative ways to make really good coffee without leaving the house or spending ridiculous gobs of cash. Yeah, we don’t like spending gobs of cash. We aren’t accountants or lawyers.
Here’s What You Can Do
You can make coffee too – it isn’t expensive or time consuming, no more than regular coffee really. When we started we just had a Hario Skerton hand mill grinder and a little Hario v60 ceramic dripper to make pour over coffee with. We use that dripper every day to brew up our ‘v60 black diesel’ as we call it.
You’ll be surprised at how much value you can get out of a few simple supplies. For being such a fun hobby, with the benefit of great coffee, the entry costs are surprisingly slim. Finding a brew method like the one mentioned above and just getting a manual conical burr grinder will get you everything you need to brew your own perfectly extracted madness.
Oh, and you don’t have to stop there. You can always drop by our blog and tell us what coffee you’ve been brewing, and how you’ve been keepin’ the hipsters down.
