King and queen of the hip-hop prom Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles are known to be the top earning couples reported in 2010. The couple, who quietly got married 2008, did not only produce and sing some of the biggest hits on the music charts but also joined clothing lines, performed around the world and endorsed products from companies like American Express and Budweiser.
Between June of 2008 and June of 2009 the couple earned a combined $122 million putting them at the top of the annual Top-Earning Couples list.
Jay-Z and Beyonce both contributed significantly to their reported joint earnings. Last year, Beyonce out-earned Jay-Z, bringing in $87 million to his $35 million.
For the second place on the list are Harrison Ford and girlfriend, Calista Flockhart. They earned a combined $69 million, $53 million less than Jay-Z and Beyonce’s.
Almost all of that earning came from Ford’s work in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Harrison Ford and producers Steven Spielberg with George Lucas made a unique deal with Paramount on the movie that significantly gave them a huge portion of the film’s earnings after the studio broke even. As a result Ford got his $65 million for putting back on Indy’s trademark fedora. While Flockhart earned for her work on the TV show -Brothers & Sisters.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on the third spot. The gorgeous couple earned a total of $55 million split about evenly between the two of them. Pitt had his biggest hit with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Jolie embraced her inner action hero with 2008’s Wanted and her upcoming film Salt.
Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, ranked #4 with $48 million. Smith is known to be the last of the great movie stars. Even in recessionary times he still can demand a $20 million paycheck for his films. Pinkett Smith has a boosting career of her own as well. She voiced Gloria the hippo inMadagascar film and produced The Secret Life of Bees.
Unpredictable as different body types slimming or growing bigger with varied fitness regimes, these couples collected earning could simply go smaller or bigger depending on more up coming projects and successes.
